The Town of Havana is located 14 miles north of Tallahassee in beautiful Gadsden County, Florida. In 1902, after the completion of a railroad track for the Georgia, Florida and Alabama Railroad, families who had originally settled in nearby Salem; decided to move about a mile east to the present site of Havana. The railroad was very important to the town, as was Havana Community Park, 6th Avenue East, Havana Florida.

Founded in 1906, Havana was initially driven by shade tobacco’s economic engine, as was much of Gadsden County, Florida. Today Havana is bursting with more than 30 specialty shops that are stocked with everything from new furniture and vintage collectibles to some amazing art.

(On the way to Biloxi) Who would have guessed we have a town named Havana? Founded in 1906, Havana were learned was initially driven by the tobacco industry. Today, Havana has more than 30 specialty shops that are stocked with everything from new furniture and vintage collectibles to some amazing art. Unfortunately we decided to explore the town post COVID and being right after the weekend, and therefore found Havana to be a quiet town and mostly 'closed'. We continue to enjoy finding and visiting towns like this over 100 years old. Havana is known as Florida's friendliest small town and we expect to spent time there in the fall.
