@ Port St. Joe & Cape San Blas - Lighthouse

Along the shore of St Joseph Bay lies the home of the amazing people of Port St. Joe, Florida. This is our home. For generations we have weathered life's storms both as individuals and as a family, and we have always recovered together because of our commitment to each other. (Port St Joe website). St. Joseph was founded in 1835 by businessmen from nearby Apalachicola, which was troubled by legal conflict over land titles.[3] It was mostly abandoned in 1841 after a yellow fever epidemic; a storm surge produced by a hurricane in 1844 destroyed what structures remained.

Only a short 20-minute drive from Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas is your go-to destination for beautiful sites and seclusion. Cape San Blas is a narrow stretch of land that extends out from Port St. Joe and curves around St. Joseph Bay. The locals will tell you that "the Cape" has a laid-back vibe offering up popular family-friendly activities such as fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, biking, and hiking.

Port St Joe and Cape San Blas essentially are one and the same and connected and often talked as the same location. I did no exploration of Cape San Blas or Port St Joe except visit the lighthouse. The lighthouse is in Cape San Blas.
